AC Milan 2-0 Lecce – Highlights

Rossoneri reached the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2007 after cruising past league leaders Napoli, but their domestic needed much improvement.

Stefano Pioli’s side managed to have only one win in their last six league games, which has been not entertaining so far for the fans.

However, a Leao’s double at San Siro appeared to bring some as they beat the relegation-threatened Lecce.

The home side thought they had a penalty when Theo Hernandez tackled down by Federico Baschirotto as referee Daniele Chiffi pointed to the spot.

But after consulting VAR, the referee reversed his decision and rule out a penalty as Milan players were fumed at.

Lameck Banda threatened to score with a huge opportunity at the 19th-minute, but his header hit the left post from close range.

In less than five minutes to the break, Milan punished Lecce’s miss as Leao rised above all to head into the left corner after cross from Tonali.

The winger missed a perfect chance after 73 minutes to double the lead with his wasteful chip, however, he amended only 60 seconds later with a solo run followed by a left-footed drive to make it 2-0.

The Milan winger became just the second Portuguese player to hit the 10-goal mark in two consecutive Serie A campaigns, after Cristiano Ronaldo did so for Juve three seasons in a row (2018/19 and 2020/21).
