Zlatan Ibrahimović

Position: Forward

Age: 40/41 (born October 3, 1981)

Shirt number: 11

Country: Sweden (62 goals in 121 games since 2001)

At AC Milan since: 2020 (second spell)

Known for his outlandish persona both on and off the pitch, the flamboyant Swede is one of the game’s polarizing characters who had his share of haters and fans across his career that took him to both sides of the pond.

A native of Malmo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic won trophies whenever he goes ever since he began his career in 1999, with the exception being with his hometown club and LA Galaxy in the Major League Soccer.

Overall, he had won league titles in the Eredivisie, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1. His lone European title came in his first season at Manchester United, where he won the Europa League in 2017 as he was the Red Devils’ leading scorer in that campaign.

Although he had played in the Italian Big three of Juve, Inter and AC Milan, he had been revered by the red-and-black half of the San Siro the most, delivering their first Scudetto in the post-Maldini era in 2011, while on loan from Barcelona. And following the footsteps of the famous Gre-No-Li trio, he was the second-leading scorer among Swedish imports for Milan.

While he was tearing it up at club level, the same cannot be said about his international career, where he had been in two World Cups and four European championships for Sweden, going only as far as the first knockout phase of the former while he was the country’s leading goal scorer.

After lifting more silverware with Paris St. Germain and United, he returned to the Rossoneri in 2019, albeit in a limited role under Stefano Pioli that saw his scoring production reduced. But his leadership became vital in ending their eleven-year drought, clinching their 19th Scudetto in 2022.
