Milan’s plan took a blow as Tammy Abraham fired home in the fourth minute of stoppage time as the English striker sent home fans wild with his bottom-corner finish.

However, Saelemaekers canceled out the host with a 97th-minute stunned Stadio Olimpico and earned a valuable point to maintain their place in the race to top four.

The draw saw Milan extend their unbeaten Serie A streak against Roma to seven matches, but it’s hard to see two clubs thoroughly satisfied with the result.

Chances were limited in a uneventful first half, with only few signs from Lorenzo Pellegrini’s curl or Leonardo Spinazzola’s pass that almost became an assist for the Italian midfielder.

Saelemaekers also landed an effort early in the second half as both sides struggled to create anything significant.

A goalless game was imminent, until Abraham fired past Mike Maignan to put Roma ahead in the 94th minute.

It was thought to have ended with three massive points for the host, but the twist was there to happen.

Saelemaekers got on the end of Rafael Leao’s deep cross before his effort squirmed through Rui Patricio to earn Milan a dramatic point.

What’s next?

Both teams are back in Serie A action on Wednesday, when Roma travel to Monza while Milan will host Cremonese.
