Game Highlights

The Serie A 2022/23 Matchday 28 result may not impact much on the title race, but it is a message well delivered by Stefano Pioli’s side with a convincing win away from home.

A win saw Milan go third in the table as city rival Inter Milan was defeated by Fiorentina, moreover, Rossoneri gave some sign of what are coming ahead of the Champions League quarter-final tie.

Leao scored an impressive double, with a close-range strike but it was the opener with a mesmerizing one-on-one finish that stunned the Naples fans.

Napoli, who was without leading marksman Victor Osimhen for injury, still applied plenty of pressure but lacked cutting edge.

Giovanni Simeone – starting in place of Osimhen — missed the first clear chance when he fired over from 12 yards out.

Milan was more crucial when it came to finishing and the away team struck first after 17 minutes with Leao silenced the home crow when he dinked a finish over Alex Meret to end his 11-game goal drought with his club.

In less than 10 minutes later, the advantage was doubled, thanks to a sitter from Diaz, who fired it into the roof of the net.

The home side was the side with better possession, but Milan was more efficient when it came to score. Leao had his second early in the second half when the Portugal striker tricked his way past Amir Rrahmani and lashing into the top-right corner.

It all came to and early end when Saelemaekers added a fine solo goal, dancing through several Partenopei challenges before prodding beyond Meret after 67 minutes.
