Milan considering shock move for Romelu Lukaku
AC Milan are considering about making a shock move to try and sign Chelsea’s striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of Inter Milan’s attempt to keep the striker and Saudi Arabia’s lucrative offers.
Stefano Pioli’s side is looking at reinforcements during the summer transfer window, with Marcus Thuram, Ruben-Loftus Cheek, and Kamada have been emerged as top targets.
A new saga about Lukaku
According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, Rossoneri could pull off an incredible deal by signing rival star Lukaku.
Milan is close to selling midfielder Sandro Tonali for a massive fee to Champions League’s newbie next season, Newcastle United.
Fabrizio Romano reported that the English side is on the verge of reaching a full agreement with Tonali on personal terms, as the salary proposal is huge.
The contract is understood to last until June 2029 for €8m net plus €2m add-ons salary per season.
If the deal is through, the Magpies will pay up to €65 million, a massive fee that can help Milan execute Lukaku’s signing.
Lukaku will not return to Chelsea
The Belgium superstar will not return to Chelsea, as Inter Milan is looking at options to keep him for another season.
Lukaku wants to stay at Inter, having previously rejected a €50 million offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal €50 million for a 2-year deal.
However, the Nerazzurri won’t offer Chelsea anything other than a loan deal. Even with Inter and Lukaku putting pressure on them to hurry up, Chelsea are stalling in loan talks.
On the other hand, Milan could potentially offer the Blues €40 million in straight cash for Lukaku. This could prove a very tempting offer.
There is also the player’s decision to consider, and he may want to avoid the controversies should he choose to play for Milan’s rivals.
