AC Milan vs Hellas Verona – Predictions

AC Milan seek their first win since the international break when they resume Serie A duty at home to Hellas Verona on Saturday.

Rossoneri went winless (1L 1D) in the last two games in all competitions, with a terrible defense show the Derby della Madonnina, while the attacking lines were far from convincing at home against Newcastle.

Hellas Verona is no joke, as this side has been beaten just once so far this season.

Sitting only two points shy of Milan in the early Serie A standings, Marco Baroni’s side may even fancy their chances of ending their decades-long drought against Milan at San Siro – particularly if the hosts’ rhythm has been interrupted by recent events.

The Veneto club have already picked up seven points this season, representing their second-best Serie A start this century and a total opposite face of a side that survived the drop by an end-of-season playoff last term.

Milan’s defeat at Inter last weekend was their only loss so far this season, and Stefano Pioli would love to get back in the winning run.

According to Sky Sports, there will be a change in goal where Marco Sportiello will replace Mike Maignan, who went off during the last game against Newcastle with a minor muscle problem.

After two games without a win, changes must be made in the rest of the starting XI. There will be a change in the defense again, too, with Simon Kjaer returning to partner Fikayo Tomori at centre-back, giving Malick Thiaw a rest. At the same time, Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez should keep their place as full-backs.

In midfield, Yunus Musah is tipped to get his first start, with Rade Krunic keeping his place at the base of the three and Tijjani Reijnders coming in on the left side.

In attack, there should be a couple of changes, too, with Christian Pulisic back into the side and Noah Okafor tipped to get his first start, while Rafael Leao remains.

Predicted Milan XI (4-3-3):

Sportiello; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Musah, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Okafor, Leao.

AC Milan vs Verona prediction:

AC Milan 2-0 Hellas Verona

Verona have never before beaten Milan in a top-flight match at San Siro, and this time, it will be no different.
