Milan are still in a solid position to seal a major title this season, the UEFA Europa League. Pioli’s men edged Slavia Praha and Rennes before the tough draw put them in the quarter-final with Serie A rivals AS Roma this month.

Pioli’s role in improving new signings

The former Lazio and Inter boss played an important role in Milan’s signing of the USMNT duo of Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah last summer. Pulisic has enjoyed a rich vein of form under the Italian coach’s tutelage, scoring 12 goals in 40 matches across all competitions and providing eight assists.
