Zirkzee, Sesko top AC Milan center-forward search, says report

AC Milan’s search to acquire a quality center-forward may lead to a choice between Joshua Zirkzee or Benjamin Sesko.

The Rossoneri might also be searching for a central defender and full-backs for next season. But AC Milan needs to boost its attacking line, which fits Zirkzee and Sesko, according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

AC Milan chairman Paolo Scaroni welcomed the move to land big investments for the summer mercato ahead of the 2024-25 season. However, the Italian businessman remained non-trivial regarding specifics when he spoke before the Milan-Monza match over the weekend.

“We will close the 2023-24 financial year with an excellent result,” Scaroni said. “This is the premise for being able to go to the market with the means to be able to make important decisions.”

However, pushing Zirkzee and Sesko away from their current clubs may be costly for AC Milan. Both players are reportedly worth €40 million based on their current contracts.

The Rossoneri are also looking for a central midfielder or central defender, and the club has three options. Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix, Brest’s Lilian Brassier, and Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo top the list.
