Giroud then pulled one back for the hosts only three minutes after the second conceded goal. However, Berardi made it 3-1 after just 30 minutes, prior to end an eventful first half.

AC Milan pulled out everything they could when the game restarted, but the hope for a comeback soon got smothered by an early goal from a penalty.

Armand Lauriente was brought down in the penalty area by Calabria after 33 seconds of the restart, allowing him to make it 4-1 from the spot.

The home team got another goal denied by VAR when Ante Rebic put the ball in the back of the net from a offside position.

Then Berardi became the first player to hit 3 assists in one Serie A game this season, when he fed Matheus Henrique the chance to score in the 79th minute, and Henrique did not waste it.

Divock Origi scored a stunning goal but it was no more than a consolation one for Pioli’s side as they are now in deep crisis with the Serie A title defence faltering.
