Milan should look early for an heir to Olivier Giroud, as well as a central defender “to make up for Kjaer’s departure,” he added, referring to the center-back and Denmark men’s national team captain.

The Serie A outfit will also need a midfielder who has “different characteristics, more defensive needed to complete that particular department, the columnist added.

‘ATHLETIC PREPARATION’ STILL KEY FOR MILAN

While Vitiello hopes for those “three quality additions” to arrive for Milan, the club still needs a long training period to integrate the new players.

Milan should use an “athletic preparation phase” to limit the number of injuries during the season. An injury-free lineup should lead the Rossoneri to reach “a good place” in the league,” he added.

Multiple reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport say Milan might complete three to four new signings. The club could even spend around €100 million in the next summer window, reports added.
