ICARDI COULD BE MILAN’S NEW STRIKER TO REPLACE GIROUD

Behrami cited Icardi as a striker who has the qualities that could lift Milan to overtake Inter at the top of Serie A soon.

Icardi is a player who could replace current Milan striker Oliver Giroud, who is likely to leave after this season.

Icardi played at Inter for seven years (2013-20) before visiting Paris Saint Germain.

He then left for Galatasaray in 2022-23 to play in Turkey’s Super Lig.

“Icardi has a crazy personality, he is very cold and responsibility never weighs on him, even though he has always been criticized a lot,” Behrami said.

The former midfielder also told PlanetaMilan that Icardi is “an extraordinary player” who fits right with Milan.

ICARDI BETTER THAN ZIRKZEE AS MILAN STRIKER, SAYS GIANCCHERINI

Behrami was joined by Emanuele Giaccherini, Marco Parolo, and Alessandro Matri in a discussion over Milan’s future.

Aside from Icardi, Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee is also linked as a Milan target.

However, Giaccherini is not hearing any of it.

“Milan need a striker who scores at least 15 goals, and Zirkzee isn’t that for me,” Giaccherini said.

Icardi tallied 22 goals for Galatasaray and seven assists in 24 league appearances last season.

He currently has 18 goals and seven assists in 27 matches this year.
