It’s only months until the current season ends, and there are as many as seven players, including the veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic that may not have their contracts extended.

Olivier Giroud used to be in the list, but thanks to his impressive form, Rossoneri decided to hand him another year as it was announced new contract signed for the French talisman valid until June 2024.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Contract ending in June 2023

The 42-year-old warrior has been an crucial figure at Milan’s dressing room since his free-transfer in 2020. Ibrahimovic has featured only four league games this season, scored one, and most of the time at the club has been enduring with calf injuries.

It’s hard to see the former PSG and Man United stay at San Siro for longer, but he can be taking other roles such as ambassador and even Stefano Pioil’s assistant.

Antonio Mirante & Ciprian Tatarusanu(Goalkeeper) – Contract ending in June 2023

The last time 39-year-old goalkeeper Antonio Mirante’s contract was extended was last year. The Italian shot-stopper has featured zero games so far for two seasons back-to-back.

It’s not hard to understand Mirante’s situation since Mike Maignan has been playing incredible role, and Ciprian Tatarusanu was favored in case the French goalkeeper was out for injury. However, it’s assumed that probably either Mirante or Tatarusanu will be handed a chance to stay at the club after this season.

Brahim Díaz – On loan from Real Madrid till June 2023

Among the best players so far this season, Brahim Diaz will be the case that technical director Paolo Maldini would love to keep for longer.

His loan spell from Real Madrid to AC Milan, expiring in June. And boss Pioli has also expressed his wish:

“I’d be very happy to work with Brahím again in the next years, of course”.
