AC Milan coach Pioli urges Chukwueze to play like Pulisic

Nigerian footballer Samuel Chukwueze needs to step up for AC Milan and play like Christian Pulisic, according to coach Stefano Pioli.

Chukwueze, Pioli said, should bounce back for Milan after struggling in his 10 appearances for the club so far this year. The Rossoneri boss noted the 24-year-old winger’s playing style similar to Pulisic, whom the Nigerian needs to emulate.

“Pulisic and Chukwueze have the same characteristics,” Pioli said at a press conference after Milan was held to a 1-1 draw against Atalanta. “Pulisic scores, goals, assists, and works. Chukwueze has to score goals, he has to get assists, and has to work.”

Chukwueze can only come up with two goals and an assist in his 10 matches with Milan this season. In contrast, Pulisic already collected eight goals and seven assists in all of the Rossoneri’s matches this year.

The 5-foot-8 winger was impressive at La Liga with Villareal last season, when he netted 12 goals. In Milan’s recent 4-2 loss at Monza, Chukwueze went scoreless while Pulisic had a goal and an assist.
