Having put behind back-to-back defeats in all competitions, Milan dominated early against already-relegated Sampdoria.

Leao soon put the home side ahead within nine minutes into the gqame by slotting past Ravaglia, however, the lead was canceled after 20 minutes when the visitors equalised through Quagliarella.

It’s not long until Milan hit back. Giroud head from a corner to make it 2-1 before Leao won a penalty after 27 minutes to set up for Giroud’s double.

Oli should have had his hat-trick in the first half but Sampdoria’s Ravaglia was quick enough to upset the French striker.

Milan threatened to score right after the game resumed from the break, with Giroud and Tonali failed to find the back of the net.

The visitors could only hold it until 61st minute as they started to crumble when the fourth goal came.

Leao and Tonali combined to assist Diaz who side-footed home into an empty net from close range.

Five minutes later and it was five, with Giroud grabbing a hat-trick after holding off Nuytinck and stumbling the ball in from Leao’s cross.

Giroud’s hat-trick

The final whistle blew and it ended 5-1 with a welcome round of applause from the San Siro faithful, which is very important as the season will soon close the curtain.

Giroud now scored a hat-trick in every competition that he has every played at, and every club that he ever joined.
