Polish footballer eyed to boost AC Milan’s attacking reinforcements

AC Milan is determined to strengthen its line of attackers by pursuing Polish footballer Sebastian Szymanski.

The 24-year-old midfielder emerged as one of the top targets of the Rossoneri for the summer mercato. Szymanski is coming off an impressive season in the Turkish Super Lig, where he has had nine goals and eight assists.

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli needs an extra attacking midfielder, as he only has Ruben Loftus-Cheek on his club. Pioli’s reliance on the 4-2-3-1 formation has led to reports citing his need to boost the club’s depth, Spanish outlet Fichajes reported.

The Fenerbache footballer debuted with the Polish national men’s team in September 2019 in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Austria. Szymanski scored his first goal for Poland in the last qualifying match against Slovenia on November 19, 2019.

The 5-foot-9 winger signed up with Fenerbache on July 12 last year on a €9.75-million contract. He made his Super Lig debut in Fenerbache’s 2-1 win over Gaziantep at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on August 13, 2023.

AC Milan is coming off a 2-4 loss at Mpnza in Serie A action Sunday. In that match, Pioli acknowledged the club’s mistakes but defended his rotations affected by injuries to left winger Rafael Leao.
