AC Milan, two others in chase for Turkish footballer

Three European clubs, led by AC Milan, are in a frantic race to land talented Turkish footballer Ferdi Kadioglu.

WHAT KADIOGLU HAS DONE SO FAR

Kadioglu has a strong upside due to his consistent performance in the Turkish league this season. The 24-year-old left-back has tallied two goals and three assists in 34 appearances for Fenerbahce, but his potential continues to rise.

Aside from AC Milan, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in acquiring Kadioglu. The Netherlands-born standout can also play midfielder or winger in his Super Lig career, Turkish outlet Turkiye Gazetesi reported.

MILAN SEEKING NEW LEFT-BACK

The Rossoneri are searching for a new left-back as the club is bracing for the departure of Fode Ballo-Torre. Ballo-Torre left the club for the Premier League last summer.

Coach Stefano Pioli’s current go-to left-back has been Theo Hernandez, but Milan can use Kadioglu to boost the club’s depth.

FENERBAHCE READY TO MOVE ON

Kadioglu’s contract with Fenerbahce will end in June 2026, but the Turkish club is ready for his impending departure. The Super Lig outfit looks at Fatih Karagumruk standout Levent Mercan as Kadioglu’s possible replacement.

In his fifth season with Fenerbahce since first signing with the club for the 2018-19 season, Kadioglu was named vice-captain of the Turkish squad. He finished four goals and five assists across all matches throughout that season.

Napoli and Inter, meanwhile, are also the other clubs that have reportedly shown interest in Kadioglu.
